Who writes this, what it covers, and how it pays for itself.
Indigo & Paper is a small independent site about paper and the things done with it: letters, envelopes, journals and planners, cutting-machine work, and the desk all of that happens on.
What you will find here
Practical writing, aimed at the point where a decision gets made. How to fold an envelope that survives automated sorting. Which properties of a script font decide whether a monogram welds. Why habit trackers stop getting filled in around day nine. The common thread is that each piece tries to answer a question you would otherwise have to answer by wasting materials.
Four sections:
- Letter Writing — envelopes, addressing, and the slow post
- Journals & Planners — spreads, trackers, layouts
- Cricut & Cutting Machines — fonts, welding, vinyl, licensing
- Home Office — the desk and what earns space on it
Who writes it
One person, writing from experience with the materials rather than from manufacturer copy. Where I have not tested something, I say so. Where something is a rule of thumb rather than a specification, I say that too — several of the articles here are explicit about the difference, because in craft writing the two get blurred constantly and it costs readers money.
I am not a lawyer, not a postal employee, and not affiliated with any manufacturer. The font licensing article in particular is a checklist, not legal advice.
How this site pays for itself
Some links here are affiliate links, which means if you buy something after following one, this site may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
That arrangement creates an obvious incentive problem, so here is how it is handled:
- Nothing is recommended that I would not use. Several articles recommend not buying things, including one that argues most desk accessories change nothing.
- Where a free option exists, it is named as the free option.
- No prices, product names, or catalogue claims appear here unless I have checked them. If I cannot verify a specific claim, the article stays general rather than inventing a detail.
- Affiliate links are marked and disclosed at the top of every page that carries one.
